Philadelphia Eagles fans already have to endure the stress of Thanksgiving Day, but they also have to deal with the team playing the Dallas Cowboys on the holiday. One prediction would make that all not so bad.
Bleacher Report writer Gary Davenport named the 10 most pivotal games of the 2026 season after the NFL released its schedule last week. Davenport has the Eagles and Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game on there with a prediction that Philly comes out on top in a shootout, 33-31.
"For the Eagles, last year the issue was offense—despite having quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley and a solid cadre of pass-catchers, the Eagles were 24th in the league in total offense. If that offense struggles to find consistency again this year, the door will be opened for a team like the Cowboys to claim the division. The Cowboys stunned the Eagles in Dallas last year, tying a franchise record for the team's largest-ever comeback. But that is Dallas' only win against Philly over the past two years. The Eagles are just the better team. And this win will likely give them a stranglehold on the division entering December."
Eagles predicted to beat the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day
This might come down to whether it's one of the most important games of the season for the Eagles, depending on how the 2026 campaign starts. They have four divisional games in the first eight games of the year, including one against the Cowboys.
The NFC East title could be determined between the Eagles and Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. Dallas is expected to be better than last year, so the two teams are expected to compete for the division title.
An Eagles win would not completely seal the NFC East title, but it would certainly help. Philly is trying to get their third straight division title in 2026, and beating the Cowboys at least once would be beneficial.

While the Washington Commanders and New York Giants are expected to be better, the division appears to come down to the Eagles and Cowboys. A win on Thanksgiving would be massive for the Eagles.
