They know it.

The NFC East seems to be realizing how good the Philadelphia Eagles truly are because they keep hiring former assistants from the staff.

It was reported that the New York Giants had hired Dennard Wilson as their new defensive coordinator, after two years in the same role with the Tennessee Titans. Wilson previously served on Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh's staff in 2023 as the defensive backs coach.

Wilson was a key member of the Philadelphia Eagles' staff when Nick Sirianni was first hired as the head coach, first as the defensive backs coach in 2021, and then as the passing game coordinator in 2022. The Eagles were the NFL's number one passing defense in 2022, with James Bradberry named second-team All-Pro and Darius Slay landing on the Pro Bowl team, while C.J. Gardner-Johnson led the NFL in interceptions.

NFC East teams keep mooching off the Eagles' success

This is the second time that a former Eagles defensive backs coach has landed a defensive coordinator job in the NFC East this offseason. The Dallas Cowboys hired Christian Parker as their defensive coordinator after spending the last two years with the Eagles, coaching up Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean to All-Pro selections in 2025.

Some people like to talk smack about Sirianni and say that he doesn't do much, but most of his coaching hires have been home runs. Sure, the offensive coordinator role hasn't always been great, but on defense, the Eagles seem to always have coaches taken off all the time.

This is a testament to the work the Eagles' coaching staff does and how good they have been in the Sirianni era. NFC East teams know how good the Eagles have been and are trying to replicate that success.

It's hard to win three NFC East titles, two Super Bowl appearances, and one Super Bowl title in five years, but the Eagles have done that because of the good coaching they have brought in over the last five years.
