The search for a new offensive coordinator continues for the Philadelphia Eagles, with no formal interviews scheduled since Kevin Patullo's removal from the position.

Over the course of one day, no official interviews have reportedly been scheduled by the organization, but there is some clarity on what is being offered to offensive coordinator candidates. NFL insider Josina Anderson spoke with a league source and on two separate posts on X explain what is the latest from the Eagles.

"A league source said earlier today the Eagles are looking for an "established ...name" guy at offensive coordinator, and that they'll try to vet through the top qualifiers as much as possible. Adding, "no one is at the top, until they do."

Also, sounds like Mike McDaniel is regarded as an 'intriguing' name too (among others) given some of the distinctions in his scheme from what Philadelphia has run."

"A league source also just told me initial talks with Eagles offensive coordinator candidates/ "their camps" have gone well, adding that the feedback has been on wanting to have questions assuaged on "complete autonomy" over the offense--similar to what Kellen Moore enjoyed when he was with Philly.

Those concerns were met with responses ensuring an elite candidate should not anticipate "any interference," the source said."

Breaking down what is known so far about Eagles' OC search

This is about on par with what many people expected: that the next offensive coordinator would have full control of the offense without any interference from Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. After the offense's struggles last year, Sirianni became more involved with Patullo to try to fix some of the issues, but that did not help.

McDaniel's name keeps coming up as a possibility for the Eagles' offensive coordinator. It has been reported that he and Brian Daboll are the top two candidates for the job.

After what happened with the offense in 2025, the Eagles have shown in recent history that Sirianni completely staying away from one side of the ball just makes sense. Vic Fangio is having a ton of success with the defense without an intereference from Sirianni. In 2024, Moore was one of the NFL's top assistants, with full control of the offense, as the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

It has always been, and should have been, the Eagles' goal to target an experienced offensive coordinator to jump into the role. Who ends up getting the job is another question, but the Eagles are doing this search the right way, with the next step being to set up and run some actual interviews.
