One thing was made very clear after the 2026 NFL Draft: Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman worked his magic.
The Eagles made eight selections in the draft, and most of them got universally praised as Roseman picked five offensive players and three defensive players. ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler shared what he heard from scouts, coaches, and executives regarding the Eagles' draft class.
"Second-round tight end Eli Stowers (Vanderbilt) was widely considered TE2, but multiple teams viewed him as a big wideout, similar to Michael Pittman Jr. That will give Philly flexibility in how it uses him. A few teams had knee concerns with Stowers due to a past injury, but by all indications the Eagles did not, and the issue is considered minor (he was durable throughout college).
Georgia guard Micah Morris in the sixth round shouldn't be overlooked. Multiple veteran scouts believed Morris had some Day 1 features, but questions persisted about his work ethic in Athens. Luckily for Morris, the Eagles' SEC culture -- six Alabama players and five Georgia on the roster -- should help with accountability. 'Once money's involved and you can be fined for showing up late, maybe he'll turn the corner,' an NFC exec said. 'But he's light on his feet, he's got bend, power, legit SEC starting guard.'"
Eagles seem to have done well in the 2026 NFL Draft with two picks standing out
Everyone knew how athletic Eli Stowers was after having the second-fastest 40 time at the NFL Combine with 4.51 and his stellar vertical jump. The Eagles specifically picked him for his ability to catch the football and could also line up as a receiver to help with the potential loss of A.J. Brown, who might be traded next month to the New England Patriots.
Morris is a surprise to hear that he has a chance to be a Day 1 starter. That's a good thing to hear, though, from Eagles fans after everything they went through with the offensive line last year. From the injuries that piled up to Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson almost retiring from football altogether.

There is a lot to take away from the Eagles' draft class, which shows a bright future for the franchise. Now it's a matter of what kind of impact all eight selections will have in the next year or two.
