At the beginning of the offseason, it almost seemed like a certainty that the Philadelphia Eagles would trade star wide receiver A.J. Brown away. Now, a shift is being felt.

Brown appeared on multiple shows and streams during the Super Bowl, and he was more positive about the Eagles, which completely changed what people thought about his chances of being traded. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter appeared on 97.5 The Fanatic and was asked about the updated chances of Brown being moved. He went from leaning toward it to changing his stance a bit.

"I'd flip it the other way and I'd still say it could still go either way, but I'd lean safe rather than out. It's not a flip. Again, I think when we go back to the regular season, we've always said that they're in the business of acquiring elite players, not unloading them and I still think that's the case. So, I'll still say to me it could go either way, but I would be more inclined to say that he'd stay there. By the way, like I can come back on next week and shift it again to you, okay? But, you know, we're taking a temperature 100 degrees is he's traded. Last week, I was probably at 53 degrees that he would get traded. This week, I'd be at 46 degrees that he's traded. How about that?"

A.J. Brown might be staying in Philly after all

Last season should be considered a wash, as the Eagles' offense was a mess for multiple reasons, from the play calling to the offensive line injuries. Brown still managed to get three yards over 1,000, but it was the worst statistical year he has had since joining the Eagles via trade in 2022.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has always said publicly that he wants Brown in Philly and keeps him with the team. Brown's comments during Super Bowl week showed how he was actually looking forward to playing for the Eagles in 2026.

There are reasons why the Eagles should avoid a trade involving Brown, as there are obviously financial reasons for it, but he's an important member of the Philadelphia community. He has a clinic scheduled this offseason in Philly and has always been involved in helping the city with special events.

While the national sports media doesn't want to read this, the Eagles appear to be keeping Brown for the 2026 season.
