NFL just found another way to royally screw Eagles on 2026 schedule

I mean....come on.

There is always so much excitement around the NFL schedule being released, as there is hope for the team to win the Super Bowl, but Philadelphia Eagles fans can't help but find some flaws in it.

Last year, it was the fact that they were coming off a Super Bowl win that led the league to decide not to give them any back-to-back home games, instead giving them multiple back-to-back road games. While the NFL thankfully resolved that issue, it just got worse with the release of the Eagles' 2026 schedule.

One part of the schedule everyone is talking about is the Eagles heading overseas to London to play the Jacksonville Jaguars for the first time since 2018, when they also played the Jaguars. Well, not only is the NFL not giving them a bye week the week after, but they have to play four straight games before their actual bye week shows up in November.

The NFL is making the Eagles wait on their bye week after the London game

It would be one thing if the Eagles were playing easy opponents after the London game to make up for not getting the bye, but it is anything but easy. Right after the London game, the Eagles play the Carolina Panthers, who won the NFC South and made the playoffs last year.

After that, though, how about three straight NFC East matchups? Great, just great. Three of arguably the most physical games of the year are going back-to-back-to-back.

Yes, an argument could be made that the NFL is at least giving the Eagles three home games in that four-game stretch before the bye, but still. The league really needs to consider giving teams a bye week the week after the international game to give them time to recover and adjust to the time change, as that is a lot to put on a team.

Another aspect of this is that the Eagles have to play the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams in back-to-back weeks before that London game. It may be a rough first two months of the season for the Eagles.

This is nothing new for the NFL, though, in finding ways to make the Eagles' life tough, as there are other examples on the schedule. There is nothing the team can do about it, and they will have to just suck it up and get it done.
