NFL players have strong feelings on Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter, as they just showed in a big way.
The NFL released the next player up on the top 100 players list, voted on by the players. Carter found himself ranked 29th. This is actually a bump up from last year, when he was ranked 43rd.
Last year, Carter finished with 33 tackles, 12 quarterback hits, seven pass deflections, five tackles for loss, three sacks, and one block in 11 games. He missed six games due to a heel and shoulders injury. That didn't stop him from being voted into the Pro Bowl for the second straight season.

The Eagles agree with how they feel about Carter as well. They gave him a four-year, $152 million contract extension, making him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history.
Carter has been superb since the Eagles selected him ninth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. He has since dominated on the defensive line as a run-stopper and a pass rusher in the middle of the line.
Philly's future on the defensive line looks secure with Carter and Jordan Davis locked in on record-breaking contracts for at least the next five years. Carter and Davis will carry much of the load on the defensive line to ensure they don't miss a beat in the future.
If there were any Eagles fans questioning whether the team was right in giving Carter that much money, this ranking has validated it. Players around the league show that Carter is an elite talent who is going to play in the NFL for a very long time.
This season is all about Carter proving his worth with the money he's been given. He needs to stay healthy throughout the season as he prepares for his fourth year in the NFL.
The Eagles will be looking for Carter to take the next step in his development and truly become the best defensive tackle in the NFL. He has received high praise around Eagles training camp so far, so he's on the right path to getting there.
