The 2026 offseason is going to be fascinating with so many different storylines the Philadelphia Eagles have that could end perfectly or horrifically.
While A.J. Brown's future is going to be the number one story, there is another player to keep track of for the Eagles. Tight end Dallas Goedert is going to be a free agent after reworking his deal last offseason, which went from being paid $14 million for 2025 to $10 million.
ESPN NFL reporter Dan Graziano shared insights into what Eagles fans can expect regarding Goedert's future with the franchise. What seems obvious is that it will be difficult to determine whether Goedert will be back.
"He is a valuable member of the offense, but the Eagles have a lot of tough free-agent decisions. The 31-year-old might have more value to them than any other team, and if he's not eager to max out his value in free agency, it makes sense that the Eagles find a way to keep him. But if he's back, I expect it'll be on a team-friendly deal."
Eagles have a big decision with Dallas Goedert in the 2026 offseason
Goedert is certainly going to make that decision tougher on the Eagles after his record-breaking season in Philly. He finished the year with 60 receptions for 591 yards and a franchise tight end-record 11 touchdowns.
The one good thing he did during the season was stay healthy and play through whatever banged him up. After missing 15 games in the previous three seasons, Goedert only missed two games in 2025, with one of them being part of the starters getting benched in their Week 18 loss to the Washington Commanders.
Goedert was more used as a goal-line threat, with the majority of his touchdowns coming in the red zone. He had a career-low 9.9 yards per reception, the first time in his career that he fell below 10 yards per reception.

The Eagles have a lot of tough decisions to make in the offseason, and letting Goedert walk could be one that either pays off if they can find a proper replacement or haunts them.
