While the Philadelphia Eagles don't seem to be close to making a decision, they are finally getting one of their top candidates for the offensive coordinator opening in the building.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that Daboll will be interviewed by the Eagles on Tuesday. It will be the first interview for the job for Daboll, as he has been interviewing for other offensive coordinator and head coaching jobs as well.

Daboll spent the last four years as the head coach of the New York Giants, going 20-40-1 in that span with one playoff appearance. He was previously the Buffalo Bills' offensive coordinator and was responsible for developing former NFL MVP Josh Allen.

Brian Daboll is the candidates Eagles fans want as offensive coordinator

Eagles fans have been on board with the idea of Daboll being the next offensive coordinator. His prior relationships with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley make it an intriguing spot for him, as he knows how to get the most out of each player.

The problem is that the Bills have an opening for a head coach, and everyone believes Daboll will be one of the top candidates. That will make it harder for the Eagles to get him, but it's still possible he lands in Philly.

This Eagles offense needs a scheme makeover after what Kevin Patullo did in his only season as offensive coordinator. Daboll will be able to fix the running game problems and open Hurts up as a passer and runner in the offense.

Last year was the best season the Giants' offense has had in the Daboll era, ranking 13th in yards and 17th in points. The key for Daboll, though, is that his running games in New York have been good, as they were in the top five in rushing yards in 2022 and 2025.

Eagles fans would love to have an experienced, offensive-minded coach like Daboll come in and fix this offense, but there will be stiff competition for him, so the Eagles need to make sure he is on their radar at all times.
