Philadelphia Eagles fans can feel somewhat better about their upcoming Week 2 showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs, as they will have their top defensive player for the game.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter will not be facing a suspension for his ejection in the 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. Carter was kicked out of the game as he spat at Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott one play into the game.
“After talking to the Eagles, the NFL and the NFLPA, Jalen has decided not to appeal and focus on the Chiefs game,” Carter’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said in a statement.
NFL is fining Eagles DT Jalen Carter $57,222 for spitting on Dak Prescott. The league also says the game he was ejected for will serve as a one-game suspension. “After talking to the Eagles, the NFL and the NFLPA, Jalen has decided not to appeal and focus on the Chiefs game,”… pic.twitter.com/2KjRzgJk3K

Carter will be fined $57,222, and his early ejection is being served as a one-game suspension. The fine was determined as that is how much he gets paid weekly. The Eagles also will not go after Carter's guarantees and void them.
Eagles can finally move on from the situation, but Carter has more work to do
From an internal standpoint, the Eagles have the resolution they were hoping for as Carter faces punishment, but will be able to play. The team can move forward and grow from it
Carter may not be able to escape that as easily. He has a lot of work to do in the public. The point of view of him right now is that he is a vilian who has character issues.
He's got a chance to use the rest of the season and beyond that he's not that guy. It won't be fixed overnight, but he can slowly work on getting back in the good graces of the general public.
