Nick Sirianni connection should not affect Eagles' decision on trading for CB

Don't cloud any judgement on it.

One position that has become a revolving door over the last year with the Philadelphia Eagles is at cornerback.

Last season, it was Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo starting at CB2, but changes have been made with Riq Woolen being signed on a one-year deal to take over that spot. If the Eagles were considering another option at cornerback, they might have one with the Indianapolis Colts, with veteran Kenny Moore II, after he requested a trade, and the team will seek one for him.

Moore has spent his entire NFL career with the Colts, as he was selected in the 2017 NFL Draft. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni knows Moore from their time together with the Colts from 2018 through 2020, when Sirianni was the offensive coordinator.

Does Nick Sirianni's connection with Kenny Moore make a trade an intriguing move for the Eagles?

Moore made the Pro Bowl in 2021 and has played at a high level, starting 111 games in his career with the Colts. Last year, he had one of the worst statistical seasons of his career, as he started only seven of the 14 games he appeared in.

Instantly, everyone connected the Eagles to Moore because of Sirianni's past relationship with him. The two have publicly praised each other over the years, showing mutual respect.

Philly has been attached to potentially select a cornerback in the 2026 NFL Draft just to add more depth to the position. Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has been public about adding as much depth and talent to the cornerback position as possible.

There's no doubt Moore would be a great player, but he would not get many snaps as the cornerback position is crowded with Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, and Woolen in the starting lineup. While Moore would come cheap with a Day 3 pick, the Eagles are better off holding off on bringing him in, even with Sirianni's past with him.
