There's a lot of confusion among the Philadelphia Eagles fan base about what is happening with beloved former offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland after his surprising departure from the team.

One day, right tackle Lane Johnson is saying that Stoutland will still be involved in some capacity, and another, Stoutland is coming out saying that he has not been reached out to by the team. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is now the next man to address the question, as he was asked whether Stoutland would help the team out, but his answer kind of answered it without actually answering it.

"Obviously, we moved on with our with our staff, and really enjoying working with these guys," Sirianni said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "Obviously, love the guys that are no longer part of our staff. Always will have a relationship with those guys, with everything they've done for our football team. But right now, we're just focused on the upcoming year with this staff."

Nick Sirianni responds to Jeff Stoutland question

Stoutland will go down as one of the best assistant coaches in the history of the NFL for the work he has done with the Eagles' offensive line over the last 13 years. He has produced some great talent in Johnson, Jason Kelce, Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, Jordan Mailata, Brandon Brooks, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, and more. Philly went to three Super Bowls and won two of them during that span with Stoutland as well.

Looking at Sirianni's answer, it feels like they aren't expecting him to return to the team. It could also mean they don't want people to know he'd return in a consulting role, but it sounds like he's not back with them.

Chris Kuper was hired as the new offensive line coach under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. Stoutland was reportedly offered a role on the staff for 2026, but declined. Many believe it was because he reportedly lost his run-game coordinator role in the middle of last season, after struggles with the rushing attack.

It appears that both sides have moved on, and there's no telling if a reunion would happen. While Eagles fans would love to see Stoutland back on the sidelines in some capacity, those days seem to be over, and it might be time for the fan base to do the same thing and move on with Kuper leading the line now.
