The consensus appears to be that every Philadelphia Eagles fan and media member loves the team's first-round selection.
After trading up with the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles took USC wide receiver Makai Lemon with the 20th overall pick of the draft. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni shared his candid thoughts on Lemon during his press conference after the selection was made.
"His ability to separate, insane ability to catch a ball in contested situations," Sirianni said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "I love his toughness. I think this guy's a tough, tough football player with the way he carries the football and has when he has the football in his hands, and how he blocks, insanely competitive. So there's a lot, there's a lot to like. Really excited that he's added to our roster."
Nick Sirianni seems to be loving Makai Lemon's pick for Eagles
Lemon isn't the most physically gifted receiver or the fastest, but he is about as consistent as it gets at the position. The 2025 Fred Biletnikoff Award winner caught 79 passes for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Right away, Lemon is being brought in to replace A.J. Brown, who is about to be traded from the Eagles sometime after June 1. That would leave Lemon most likely playing in the slot with DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks playing on the outside.
The Eagles are getting a receiver who has all the tools to be a consistent performer in this offense. Lemon doesn't need to be a number one receiver right away, as Smith is going to hold that job once Brown finds a new home, so that won't be a problem.

After the disaster of last season on offense, the Eagles have done a lot of work to make things easier in Philly. Lemon will play a big role in helping Sirianni solve the offensive problems.
