Philadelphia Eagles fans watching the Birds game vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars on television were forced to listen to Tiki Barber assist on the call. Why? Who's responsible for these assignments? That wasn't well thought out. Oh well... Even a broken clock is right twice during 24 hours.
We aren't saying Tiki was right or wrong about anything. Frankly, we weren't paying much attention, nor would we. If we were ever forced to miss a Birds game and had to watch it on television, we'd find a way to sync the TV and radio broadcast. Then we'd turn the television announcers' sound off so we could listen to Merrill Reese and Mike Quick.
Oh well... Let's get on to more pressing matters. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni's mouth recently wrote a check that his arse will be forced to cash.
Nick Sirianni has to give up his parking space at the NovacCare Complex.
Much has been made of the Eagles' inability to score first-quarter points this season and that Vic Fangio's defense wasn't forcing any turnovers. The Birds broke both of those jinxes vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Saquon Barkley is wheeling and dealing. He went full-scale 'Matrix' on the Jags' defense and found himself on the receiving end of a Jalen Hurts first-quarter TD pass. Philly's defense has presented their head coach with a bit of a dilemma.
Nick was asked about the lack of turnovers forced by his defense this week during chats with the media. In typical Sirianni fashion, he offered another interesting response.
Coach said he'd give his parking space to anyone that could force one. It appears he'll have to split the parking pass. Sydney Brown's massive hit on Austin Trammell led to a Kelee Ringo recovery, and Zack Baun came up with the most athletic interception you'll ever see by a wide receiver.
Hey, we'll let Coach figure it out. The most important thing about all of that is this. Philly's offense AND defense is cooking again. Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio's units are shining on LeSean McCoy Day!
