While some pundits didn't like Jalen Hurts' postgame quip about being let out of his "straightjacket" following the NFC Championship, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni didn't seem to be bothered by it, at all.
Nick Sirianni downplays Jalen Hurts' postgame 'straightjacket' quip
"I think he was having fun after the game," Sirianni said. "You know, we've been winning a couple different ways this year. I think he's just having fun after the game. But I know this. He's said this plenty of times, 'I don't care how we win, as long as we win. And we do everything we can do to be able to win.'
"As we've talked a lot, there's been different circumstances of how games have went, and where we've been at late in games, but we've found a way to win and rattle off 15 out of 16. So, again, thought he was having fun with that after the game. Just loved how he went out and executed and prepared for this game."

National media is always looking for something to pick apart, especially when it comes to the Eagles, but Sirianni did his best to shut down any speculation about a quote that was made as a joke. The vibes have been too good for the Eagles this season. No reason to mess them up now.
Hurts' comment clearly came in jest, and was likely the result of people consistently questioning his ability to move the ball through the air because the Eagles employ a run-first offensive approach. Against the Commanders in the NFC Championship, Hurts threw for 246 yards and a touchdown while completing 20 of his 28 passing attempts, silencing his haters in the process. He's now just one win away from delivering the Eagles the second Super Bowl victory in franchise history.
Since said haters couldn't focus negatively on Hurts' on-field performance, they decided to go at his postgame quotes. Something is needed to fill air time, after all. But, at the end of the day, if Philadelphia's head coach isn't worried about or bothered by the comments, others probably shouldn't be either.
