This six-game losing streak has been about as brutal as it gets for the Philadelphia Eagles, as they have not been able to stop the bleeding.
The Washington Commanders gave the Eagles their latest loss in Week 8, a 27-10 blowout. It was arguably one of the worst of the season, after they built a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and did nothing with it for the rest of the game.
Eagles fans are calling for big changes to the organization to end the misery. Well, it appears changes were already happening, but we wouldn't know it because the results on the field haven't shown it. Even with the changes fans want, that's not coming anytime soon.
Nick Sirianni said Eagles did make changes (but what are they?)
After falling to 2-6 on the season, more questions came up about potential coaching staff changes and whether offensive coordinator Sean Mannion would still call the plays after the team gained just 268 yards. Sirianni didn't directly say they would keep Mannion as the play-caller, but it also didn't sound like changes were coming.
The day after is always when reporters can clarify a few things. Sirianni was asked on Monday whether any changes would be made after he made an interesting comment about having already made changes in the last few weeks.
"To keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different result is crazy," Sirianni said via The Athletic's Zach Berman.
So, what magical changes happened with the Eagles? Fans may never know because Sirianni won't say it.
"Won't get into any of that," he said. "I don't know if that benefits us."
There was also a point-blank question asking whether Mannion would still be the offensive coordinator and call the plays. That won't change, as Sirianni isn't making any coaching changes.
Reporters questioned Sirianni about offensive line coach Chris Kuper and the offensive line's struggles without Jeff Stoutland. Sirianni defended Kuper, saying that he's "coaching his ass off."
Nick Sirianni can't sit in silence about Eagles' grand plan to fix 2026
Eagles fans don't want to hear about the competitive advantage argument that Sirianni would probably use as an excuse. After losing six straight games, it doesn't look like they made any changes at all.
Sure, there may be subtle differences from the offense in Week 1 versus now. Mannion was more willing to be creative, like sending Barkley on a wheel route or putting him in the wildcat formation against the Commanders. That was cool, I guess.
Outside of that, what is different about the team? They look worse and worse every week, and it's either the offense or the defense that looks good. There's never an in-between; one side of the ball is failing while the other is succeeding.
As frustrating as Mannion has been as the offensive coordinator this year, he shouldn't lose his job midseason. He doesn't have Jalen Hurts, a healthy Barkley, Lane Johnson, DeVonta Smith, and Dontayvion Wicks. Mannion has been screwed by injuries, but he also hasn't done a great job before the injuries either.
Still, those calling for an offensive coordinator change are somewhat justified, but how often will the Eagles do this? Those are not the changes that need to happen.
Sirianni needs to make the changes. Also, tell the fan base what the changes are. Don't leave everyone in the dark.
He needs to be auditioning for his job with the general public, so tell us what's going on. If there were changes, that isn't working at all.

What Sirianni has to do is prove that he isn't the guy everyone says he is: the type to do nothing. Show some action and share what the changes are because the confidence level in Sirianni as the head coach is not there.
