Nick Sirianni was included on list that no Eagles fan believes to be remotely true

We are going to keep doing this huh?

This is starting to become a very tiring storyline that the national sports media has continued to push over the last three years: the Philadelphia Eagles head coach, Nick Sirianni, is on the hot seat. Again.

Sirianni has been in the hot seat since 2023, despite winning nearly 70% of the games he's coached and leading the team to the Super Bowl twice, with one win. Bleacher Report writer Moe Moton has the hot-seat meter at seven for Sirianni entering the 2026 season.

"As the Philadelphia Eagles head coach, Nick Sirianni is 59-26 in five seasons, leading the club to two Super Bowls and winning one. Yet Sirianni faces pressure for his coaching staff decisions. He's promoted two one-and-done offensive coordinators, Brian Johnson and Kevin Patullo. Aside from that, ESPN's Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler reported on "friction" within the Eagles' locker room, centered around quarterback Jalen Hurts. In a quarterback-driven league, with offensive development as the key to success, Sirianni doesn't have much margin for error with his new coordinator, Sean Mannion, and a team that finished the previous campaign with internal issues. If Mannion is another one-year offensive coordinator, the Eagles could look for a head coach who makes better choices for his assistants. Secondly, in a CEO-type role, Sirianni can't have disharmony amongst his players. With standards and tensions high in Philadelphia, former Eagles center Jason Kelce believes the team could move on from Sirianni if "things don't go well" in the upcoming season."

Is Nick Sirianni really on the hot seat?

There is a level of expectations in Philly when it comes to the Eagles, as success and winning are all that matter. Sirianni has proven he can get it done, as he has never had a losing season and has never missed the postseason.

The problem does lie with his decisions regarding the assistant coaches. Sirianni has whiffed badly on offensive coordinators twice in the last three years with Brian Johnson and Kevin Patullo.

Yes, those were misfires, but the Eagles still won 11 games with Johnson and Patullo, so let's not pretend that everything was bad with them. Johnson still managed to put together a top-10 offense in the NFL in 2023 despite his struggles.

As for the Hurts stuff, again, that's not on Sirianni; it's the national media pushing a narrative to bring the quarterback down because it helps with clicks and views. All Hurts has done is win games, but no one wants to give him credit, just like no one wants to give Sirianni credit because, for some reason, no one likes them.

Everyone is going to keep pushing this insane narrative that Sirianni is on the hot seat, but he's done nothing to prove he doesn't deserve the job. Good luck finding a head coach who will have as much success as he has over the last five years.
