Nothing has come easy for the Philadelphia Eagles through the first two games of the 2025 regular season.

The Eagles started the season with Jalen Carter getting ejected one play into the Dallas Cowboys game, but the team fought through to pick up a 24-20 win. Week 2 was tougher against their Super Bowl opponents, the Kansas City Chiefs, and with only 216 total yards of offense, the Eagles survived another slugfest 20-17.

Philadelphia has started the season 2-0 and appeared to be the gritty team Eagles fans saw last year when they took home the Lombardi Trophy. That mindset is thanks to one man who has set the tone since the beginning of offseason workouts: Nick Sirianni.

How Sirianni described this Eagles team through two games

While speaking with the media, Sirianni kept things simple with his thoughts on the team in 2025. Despite some of the offensive struggles early on, Sirianni needed just one word to describe this unit.

“Resiliency," Sirianni said via Bleeding Green Nation. "Playing for each other, together — not wanting to let each other down. The process that they go through. All the things. The mental toughness that we have. It’s just a bunch of good guys — good coaches, good players.

Our job, especially early in the season, is — and I tell the team all the time — find a way to win, take pride in winning anyway that you possibly can, work to get better throughout the week, repeat. Repeat, repeat, repeat. So, we gotta keep getting better.“

The Eagles are only averaging 126.5 yards per game passing on offense. That hasn't stopped the defense from being top 10 in total yards allowed (300.5) and pass defense (180.5).

Last year, Philly was 9-2 in the regular season and postseason combined in one-score games. The Eagles are already showing some of those same traits in the 2025 season with two wins in tight games.
