One of the biggest headaches for the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2025 season was finding consistency at CB2 between Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo.

While Jackson ended up playing well late in the season, the Eagles still need to find a better option in the offseason to fill that CB2 role for the long term. Philly might have a solid option out there that just became available to them.

The Green Bay Packers announced that they have released cornerback Trevon Diggs after spending just two games with the team. Diggs was released by the Dallas Cowboys after spending nearly six years with the organization.

Eagles might find more consistency with Trevon Diggs at CB2

Diggs is no slouch of a cornerback, as he has been selected to two Pro Bowls and a first-team All-Pro selection back in 2021. That same season, he led the NFL with 11 interceptions and returned two for touchdowns.

Since the 2023 season, though, availability has been the biggest problem for Diggs, as he has missed 29 games over the last three years. Injuries have plagued him to the point that they have hurt his performance on the field. The final incident with Diggs not listening to the team and staying with his family in Washington, D.C., after the Christmas Day game seemed to be the final straw for the Cowboys.

Diggs played in only one regular season game with the Packers, but he did play in the final game of the season after just being signed, recording 33 snaps on defense. In the playoff loss to the Chicago Bears, he only had one snap.

There's no doubt that bringing someone like Diggs in is a risky move, but it's one the Eagles should consider. They will be able to get him at a lower price than expected after failing to help the Packers in their playoff run, and the durability concerns will hover over his asking price.

Philly could still look at the draft to add another cornerback, potentially one to develop and lean on if it doesn't work out with Diggs. The Eagles need to do something to help All-Pro corners Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in the secondary.

Diggs might not be the player he was a few years ago, but get Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio to work closely with him, and there could still be some magic left with the former Pro Bowler.
