One thing that the Philadelphia Eagles have done during the offseason well is use Penn State to its advantage on pre-draft visit.
There is plenty of talent coming from the school, and with them being considered local since they are within a few hours of them, the Eagles have been bringing some of those guys in for local visits. Philly added to that with their latest local player to come in.
ABC 6's Jason Dumas reported that the Eagles are hosting Penn State offensive lineman Drew Shelton for a pre-draft visit. Shelton has started 24 games in the last two years, allowing 18 pressures, zero quarterback hits, and one sack on 359 pass blocking snaps. Pro Football Focus gave him an overall grade of 70.6, ranking 94th out of 632 offensive tackles.

Eagles visiting with Drew Shelton for local visit
Obviously, the biggest need for the Eagles going into the draft is the offensive line and building depth there for the future. Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson almost retired this offseason, so the team needs a backup plan for both guys. It doesn't help that Matt Pryor and Brett Toth both left the team in free agency to sign with other teams.
Shelton gives the Eagles the depth they need at the tackle spot while also giving him time to develop as a potential successor to Johnson. There wouldn't be a need for Shelton to jump into the lineup right away, as he can be the backup for a year or two before becoming a starter.
The good thing about Shelton is that he is also more of a Day 2 selection, so the Eagles could look at another position in the first round, like edge rusher, safety, or wide receiver. This draft has a solid class of offensive linemen to the point that they can wait until the second or third round to find an offensive lineman. Over the last few years, the Eagles took Dickerson and Cam Jurgens on Day 2, so it's worked out well for Philly so far.

There are going to be a lot of options on the offensive line, but Shelton can be a great run blocker for this Eagles offensive line and develop into a future starter if they decide to take a chance on him in the 2026 NFL Draft.
