It appears as though Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is not quite done adding talent to the roster.
Over the last two weeks, there has been a revolving door at wide receiver, with a player signing and being cut about a week later, and A.J. Brown being traded to the New England Patriots. Roseman has another plan in mind for potentially bringing in some talent at receiver.
NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported that the Eagles will be hosting wide receiver James Proche II for a tryout this week at OTAs. Proche was a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens and played for three teams in the league. He has caught 34 passes for 364 yards in 71 games.
Eagles giving a former sixth-round pick a shot at making 90-man roster
At 5-foot-11 and 193 pounds, Proche makes for a solid slot receiver in an offense and has the experience on the field. While he hasn't found the end zone in his playing career in the pros, he is a reliable receiver who can pick up the first down.
It's going to be very difficult for Proche to get on the roster before training camp, and even if the Eagles decide to sign him, it will be even tougher for him to make the 53-man roster. Philly is loaded at receiver with DeVonta Smith, rookie Makai Lemon, Dontayvion Wicks, Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore, Darius Cooper, and Johnny Wilson, just to name the top candidates.

Proche is at least going to go out there and give it a shot, and with his experience, it might give him a fighting shot to at least get to training camp. The last thing the Eagles need is a wide receiver, though, so it's interesting that they continue to go after them. Roseman must have something up his sleeve with getting as much depth at the position as possible.
