Eagles better hope latest John Harbaugh coaching rumor isn't true

We'd prefer the Giants be a dumpster fire.

The Philadelphia Eagles might not be winning the Super Bowl this year, but there's no doubt that they're the top of the crop in the NFC East, and that should hopefully continue to be the case. The Cowboys and Commanders underperformed this season while the Giants continued to be the Giants.

While it's been fun to dunk on the Giants and their struggles in recent years, the unfortunate reality for Eagles fans is that the Giants' vacant head coaching position is an appealing one, given the talent that team has. That could lead to them landing a guy who has what it takes to make them competitive again, and that's not fun for Eagles fans to think about.

One name that has been linked to taking the Giants' job is John Harbaugh, who was shockingly fired by the Ravens after spending 18 years there. It was a move that signaled the Ravens were ready to make a change and allowed Harbaugh to get a fresh start elsewhere.

According to Jordan Raanan, who covers the Giants for ESPN, the Giants are on Harbaugh's short list for his next destination. To add further stress to Eagles fans' plates, Ranaan reported:

"The #Giants, #Titans and #Falcons have emerged as top suitors for John Harbaugh among the available jobs.

This is going to start moving quickly. It's not out of the question that Harbaugh visits all three teams by the end of the week."

Eagles fans should be worried about John Harbaugh landing with the Giants

This would not be good for the Eagles if Harbaugh ultimately decided to become the head coach of the New York Giants. Sure, Harbaugh and the Ravens' only Super Bowl title together was back in the 2012 season, but, as far as putting together competitive seasons go, Harbaugh is clearly capable of doing just that. In his 18 years on the job in Baltimore, the Ravens suffered just three losing seasons, and one of those happened this past year.

In other words, if anyone can come in and turn the Giants around immediately, it'd be John Harbaugh. Eagles fans would rather not live in that timeline, so hopefully, Harbaugh decides to go with another team.
