The Philadelphia Eagles might have a big problem on their hands after their 23-19 NFC Wild Card loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
One good thing that came from the loss was that the Eagles were able to finally end the Kevin Patullo era as offensive coordinator after one season. Now comes the bad news: coaches on the staff may start leaving the team since the season is over.
Unfortunately, NFL insider Jordan Schultz has reported that the first Eagles coach to receive a request to do an interview is defensive backs coach and passing game coordinator Christian Parker. The team that made the request? The Dallas Cowboys are looking to fill their defensive coordinator opening.
Worst case scenario might be coming for Eagles and coaching staff
There's Dallas again, always coming in and making life harder on the Eagles. While the idea of Parker leaving is a realistic and good one, as it would give him a chance to be a defensive coordinator elsewhere, the Cowboys would be awful news for the Eagles.
Parker has done a fantastic job since joining Vic Fangio's defensive coaching staff in 2024, coaching the secondary. He has obviously produced two All-Pros in second-year players Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, and managed to get Adoree' Jackson to be a respectable starter by the end of the year.
At 34, Parker is among the brightest minds among defensive coaches who have not been a coordinator yet and deserves a ton of credit for his work during the 2024 Super Bowl championship season. He molded their top two draft picks into two of the best cornerbacks in the NFL in two years.

Dallas coming in and trying to interview him would be bad for the Eagles, as they are bound to lose Parker, but to the Cowboys? That would hurt more than any other coaching loss Philly could potentially face this offseason.
