After multiple trades throughout the 2026 NFL Draft, the Eagles went from having zero seventh-round picks going into the weekend to making three selections.
Most of the focus in the early rounds of the draft was on Eagles general manager Howie Roseman targeting young offensive players to build the future around. In the later rounds, more defenders went, but the majority of the picks were on offense for the Birds.
It was all defense for the Eagles entering the final round of the NFL Draft as they wanted to hit the secondary and the defensive line. Here's a look at all three of the selections the Eagles made in Round 7.
Round 7, Pick 244: Cole Wisniewski, safety (Texas Tech)
Wisniewski started 14 games last year for the Red Raiders, finishing third on the team with 78 tackles, while adding six pass deflections, two forced fumbles, one sack, and one fumble recovery. The Eagles get a depth piece to the secondary after seeing Reed Blankenship departing, leaving Wisniewski competing with J.T. Gray to make the 53-man roster on special teams.
Round 7, Pick 251: Uar Bernard, EDGE (International Pathway Program)
Bernard has never played football in Nigeria, but he is a freakish athlete at 6-foot-4 and 306 pounds with only 6% of body fat. He ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash and had a vertical of 39”. The Eagles truly might have the sleeper pick of the draft if they are able to develop him the right way in a year or two.

Round 7, Pick 252: Keyshawn James-Newby, EDGE (New Mexico)
Last season with the Lobos, James-Newby racked up 52 tackles, nine sacks, five pass deflections, and two forced fumbles. The Eagles add another edge rusher to the room to really help the defense out.
