Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean has established himself over the last two years as one of the top 10 players at his position in the NFL.
Last season was a great example of the progress he made, as he shut down top receivers like Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson. DeJean was recently asked about the opportunity to play against another great wide receiver, with this player being someone he is very familiar with: A.J. Brown.
"I would love to go against him. I know he'd love to go against us too, so it'd be a fun battle."

Brown was traded to the New England Patriots last month, setting up a training camp reunion in August for two days when the two teams scrimmage before their preseason showdown. It will be the first time the Eagles will see Brown in a different uniform since his Tennessee Titans days.
DeJean and Brown faced off with each other a lot at Eagles practice time and time again over the last two seasons. Both are elite at their positions, making the showdown even better to watch.
Last season was proof of how elite DeJean was, as he made his first Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams. He finished the season with 93 tackles, 16 pass deflections, four tackles for loss, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and one quarterback hit in 16 games. He allowed a completion percentage of 60.5 and a passer rating of 75.4.
This season is going to be very different for DeJean, as his role is about to increase on the defensive side of the ball. He is being asked to not only play in the slot, but he is also going to have some snaps at safety when the Eagles are in a "base" defense in 2026 and beyond.
Brown was a force for the Eagles over the last four years, recording more than 5,000 receiving yards and completely changing the offense. Philly made two Super Bowl appearances and won one with Brown on the team.

Now that the Brown era is over in Philadelphia, DeJean is left with a bigger role to help the defense out and support the Eagles' offense with their transition. Eagles fans can't wait to see Brown and DeJean face off in training camp next month.
