The New York Giants have made some interesting hires for their new coaching staff, even though many thought bringing in former Philadelphia Eagles special teams coordinator John Harbaugh was a home run.

Harbaugh just hired former Eagles assistant Matt Nagy to be his offensive coordinator after missing out on Todd Monken, who took the Cleveland Browns head coach job. It appears Harbaugh continues to look into his Eagles past to see whether any of those coaches are interested in joining the Giants.

USA Today Giants reporter Art Stapleton was told by sources that the team is considering bringing former Eagles offensive line coach and defensive coordinator Juan Castillo to the staff to coach the offensive line. Castillo has previously worked with Harbaugh and Nagy at several stops.

Eagles fans are openly rooting for Juan Castillo to join Giants

Before Jeff Stoutland was coaching great offensive lines for the Eagles, there was Castillo. From 1998 through 2010, Castillo was the offensive line coach and did a great job building one of the top lines in the NFL.

Former Eagles head coach Andy Reid then made one of the most boneheaded promotions of all time, moving Castillo up to the team's defensive coordinator in 2011 and 2012. While year one was not bad, the second season was bad, as the team was 15th in yards allowed and 29th in points, which led to Castillo being fired in the middle of the 2012 season.

Harbaugh has made it clear that he is bringing in former Ravens and Eagles coaches to the staff, so it makes sense that Castillo is being considered. Castillo is currently the offensive line coach for the Syracuse Orange.

After the nightmares of the 2012 defense, Eagles fans wouldn't mind facing off against Castillo twice a season and dominating his offensive line if he is truly hired.
