While coaching news has dominated the Philadelphia Eagles' offseason, talk of A.J. Brown being traded has also drawn people's attention.

The biggest aspect of a potential Brown trade from Philly is the compensation and what the Eagles could get for him. Most fans want a first-round pick, but some experts believe they might have to settle for a second-round pick. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter appeared on 97.5 The Fanatic to share more about what the Eagles want out of a trade involving Brown.

"I think teams are going to be motivated. Everyone's going to be motivated to upgrade their roster, so what's the best way to do that if you can't do it in free agency? You're going to be more anxious to do it in a trade, but you know if you're trading A.J. Brown I don't know what the return would be on an A.J. Brown trade. I mean I personally think the Eagles would want a one if they even entertained it. I don't know if they will. At least a one."

Will the Eagles get what Adam Schefter is saying?

A first-round pick feels like fair compensation for a 28-year-old wide receiver who has made the Pro Bowl three times and was one of the catalysts for the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, his 2025 season numbers did not help his value stay high after 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns.

If the Eagles wanted to get a first-round selection from Brown, that trade had to be made last offseason when the value was red hot for him. Now, even though many teams will still call for Brown, they might not be as willing give up too much for him.

Philly will have to focus on teams like the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots, who are contenders and are a wide receiver away from a Super Bowl. Getting a first-round pick from them makes more sense.

If they call a team like the Las Vegas Raiders or New Orleans Saints, they have high first-round and second-round draft picks, so don't expect them to give those up. They might be willing to make a second-round pick, but are more likely to offer a third- and fourth-round pick for Brown, as those teams continue to build around younger players.

The Eagles have an interesting offseason ahead, with Brown and the question of whether a trade will even happen. It feels as though everyone wants it to happen outside of Philly.
