The Philadelphia Eagles have ruled the NFC East over the last two years, winning division titles, and have won three of the last four.
This offseason, there is a lot of stock being bought outside Philadelphia, with the other three NFC East teams seen as improving. Bleacher Report writer Moe Moton believes that the New York Giants' hiring of former Eagles special teams coordinator John Harbaugh as their new head coach will be an x-factor in the division race, as Harbaugh plans to come in and change the culture.
"(John) Harbaugh brings a decorated resume with him to New York. On his watch, the Ravens won a Super Bowl and six division titles. He only had three losing seasons in 18 years with the club. Other than being a perennial contender, the Ravens also had an identity rooted in toughness and physicality under Harbaugh. If he instills that mentality into the Giants, Big Blue could see a quick turnaround."
Eagles fans aren't believing a new coach changes anything with Giants
Harbaugh is a proven coach in this league, having won a Super Bowl with the Ravens. To think that he will instantly come in and change everything in one year is unrealistic.
The Eagles have one of the most complete rosters in the NFL, and despite some concerns about new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, they are still in a strong position given their talent. Maybe the Giants will win more games in 2026 than they did last year, but it should be clear that the Eagles still own the NFC East. Even Harbaugh said it himself months ago.
“So, you gotta build a team to beat the Eagles. Yeah, you gotta beat the Commanders and you gotta beat the Cowboys, but the Eagles are the champs. So, we have to build a team to beat the Eagles. And everything we do, every practice we have, every film session will be with that in mind.”
Keep in mind that the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys kept their head coaches and improved their rosters as well. New York is not going to have an easy time competing with them and the Eagles in one of the most competitive divisions in football.

Many are still picking the Eagles to win the NFC East for a third straight year, and for good reason. They are the better team, and the Giants will have to wait another year for a legitimate shot at it.
