Every player has some kind of celebrity or hero they look up to based on what they have done in their lives, and Philadelphia Eagles rookie first-round pick wide receiver Makai Lemon is no exception to that.

Lemon recently took part in the NFL Rookie Premiere event, where selected rookies came out for photo ops and other events to welcome them into the league. The Eagles' newest player shared that he looks up to rapper Snoop Dogg.

“I definitely see what he does,” Lemon said to Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano. “Still, even at his age, I see him on TV and in commercials. It’s something that could take you a lot further than football because football is only going to last for so long, so just seeing what he does outside of his music and everything like that, I feel like that’s definitely inspiration, for sure.”

Makai Lemon respects the path Snoop Dogg has taken in his life

If there is an influence on Lemon's life, Snoop Dogg is not a bad person to look up to. Snoop Dogg has proven himself to be one of the best rappers of all time, but he has also been a TV reality star, appeared in multiple commercials, and even has his own wine that people can drink.

In today's NFL, players leverage the money they make to invest in businesses for the future, so they have a backup plan when their playing days are over. Eagles fans have seen it on their own team with Jalen Hurts writing books and DeVonta Smith streaming video games.

It appears that Lemon will be on the same path as doing things outside of football. He shared with Sports Illustrated that he could see himself getting into music as well.

“Behind the scenes, for sure,” Lemon said. “In a studio or something like that.”

If he releases an album while on the Eagles, he knows he will have thousands of fans in Philly ready to support and buy his music right away. He's got a bright future on the field and appears ambitious to get it done off the field.
