Another candidate has been brought in for a second round interview for the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator position, as it appears the two-week-long search might be at the tail end of it.

The Eagles had first brought in Green Bay Packers quarterback coach Sean Mannion for his second-round interview for the job. Mannion has been gaining traction, but there is a second candidate in the mix with more experience than he.

A league source told ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler that Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter was brought in for his second round interview for the OC opening. Cooter has been the Colts' offensive coordinator since 2023 and previously worked with Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni in Philly during the 2021 season as a consultant.

While there are Eagles fans who would be excited to see a fresh face like Mannion in as offensive coordinator, most of the rest of the fan base would prefer someone with experience. Cooter previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Colts and the Detroit Lions.

One thing that Cooter can bring to the Eagles is the ability to run the football. Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has been among the best in the NFL, and the offensive line has shown great improvement since the Andrew Luck days.

It also helps that people around the Eagles facility would know Cooter a bit after his short one-year stint with the team. Sirianni obviously thinks very highly of him to turn to him as a consultant to help him through his first year as the Eagles' head coach.

With how this search is going, the Eagles will have plenty more candidates come in for more first and second-round interviews to ensure they cover all their bases. This is one of the team is okay going slow on, but if they don't move quickly enough, good candidates could be lost.
