To the credit of Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, he did a great job in working fast to get most of the 2026 rookie class signed to contracts.
Most recently, second-round pick Eli Stowers signed his contract with the Eagles, which was a big relief after most of the class getting their deals done. There's only one problem now: third-round pick Markel Bell is the only unsigned rookie on the roster right now.
Bell was selected to help the Eagles create some depth to the offensive line as they look to get younger with the position group. The hope is that he might be the eventual replacement for Lane Johnson at right tackle, but with no contract signed, that's a big concern.
Should Eagles fans be concerned that Markel Bell is not under contract yet?
Think about what happened last year with the Eagles when they were dealing with their final unsigned player, safety Andrew Mukuba. There was an odd run of second-round picks from last not signing contracts as they all wanted full guaranteed deals, but the Eagles eventually got a deal done with Mukuba right before training camp.
Roseman is only in May and has just Bell to sign. That's not bad, considering what they dealt with last year.
The expectation is that the Eagles will get a deal done with Bell soon enough, so it is not a distraction in the summer. Philly already has enough to deal with when it comes to the impending A.J. Brown trade happening sometime early next month.

Ideally, the Eagles would love to have Bell's deal done before Roseman is all in on Brown's trade. Even if it hasn't, there's nothing to worry about. If it drags through the start of training camp, that's a whole other story.
