Philadelphia Eagles fans have been mixed about the offseason, as it was a slow start for general manager Howie Roseman, but he came on strong at the NFL Draft, giving them hope.
The Eagles lost some key players in Jaelan Phillips, Reed Blankenship, and Nakobe Dean, as well as the inevitable trade of A.J. Brown. On the flip side, they got some great players, such as Riq Woolen, who was a strong signing at the beginning of free agency, but the draft had a lot of perfect pickups with the trade for Jonathan Greenard and the selections of Makai Lemon and Eli Stowers in the first two rounds.
CBS Sports writer Tyler Sullivan shared his NFC offseason grades for each of the 16 teams, and he gave the Eagles a B-.
"We're assuming the Eagles will get rid of A.J. Brown in some form or fashion (a trade to the Patriots?), so we're slotting him in with the departures and formulating our grade accordingly. There were a lot of notable names heading out the door this offseason for Philadelphia, particularly on defense. That said, Jonathan Greenard is a solid replacement for Jaelan Phillips, and Riq Woolen will help the secondary in the absence of Blankenship, so Howie Roseman has patched things up nicely. As it relates to Brown, Roseman has seemingly rebuilt the receiver room with his exit in mind, trading up in the first round of the draft to bring him Makai Lemon, while also bringing in veterans Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown. With DeVonta Smith slated to elevate to WR1 in this offense, this is a solid retooling by Philadelphia."
Is a B- a fair grade for the Eagles during the 2026 offseason?
The tough part is that Roseman warned everyone they would not be as active as usual, even if he was subtle about it. So, the free agency period was not as strong for the Eagles, with Woolen and Hollywood Brown being the big signings.
Roseman was more active with trades this offseason than he was last offseason, as he added Greenard, Wicks, and Andy Dalton, who were all solid pickups. They also traded away safety Sydney Brown, which helped them make the Lemon trade with the Dallas Cowboys on draft night.
What also docks the Eagles on the letter grade is that there are still some concerns about the franchise's future. They did not find a young replacement for Blankenship and will instead take a chance on either Marcus Epps or Michael Carter II.

The Eagles still had a good offseason overall, but it wasn't anything to get super excited about, if fans are being honest. It was just solid work from Roseman, like he usually does.
