Eagles fans should be more invested in potential draft pick's fantasy impact

We need to get him.

The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to have many top players drop in the 2026 NFL Draft so they can swoop in and select them, but one would be a dream.

Even with Dallas Goedert re-signing with the Eagles, the team is still being predicted to select a tight end at some point in the draft. Bleacher Report writer Gary Davenport looked at incoming draft picks who will have a massive fantasy football impact in 2026, with Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq being one of them, with the Eagles named as one of the two best landing spots for him.

"On paper at least, Sadiq has all the tools and skills to be the kind of field-stretcher and offensive threat that NFL teams covet at his position nowadays. The Carolina Panthers need to upgrade the weapons at Bryce Young's disposal, while the Philadelphia Eagles are a team that uses the tight end quite a bit and could use an heir apparent for Dallas Goedert. In either spot, Sadiq could be the next tight end to explode in fantasy as a rookie."

Eagles fans would love Kenyon Sadiq on the team for multiple reasons

Last year, Sadiq caught 51 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns in his final season with the Ducks. Despite his numbers dipping, he was considered one of the best tight ends in the nation and went into the draft as a first-round pick.

Early projections had him landing with the Eagles at 23 in the first round as a potential replacement for Goedert. Then he decided to have a monster NFL Combine, with a tight end-best 4.39-second 40-yard dash, a 10-yard split of 1.54 seconds, a vertical jump of 43.50", and a broad jump of 11'1".

While Eagles fans would love to have Sadiq, the likelihood of him landing with the Eagles at 23 seems highly unlikely now, as he is projected to be a top 15 pick in the draft. If he does fall to Philly, though, it would make things very interesting.

It could end up being like the Chicago Bears dealt with at tight end, with Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet, with Loveland becoming the top guy and Kmet being the veteran. Sadiq's numbers would still likely be affected with DeVonta Smith, Goedert, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, and potential A.J. Brown all trying to get targets in the offense. The saving grace for Sadiq is that he could be like Goedert and get a lot of short-yard touchdowns in the red zone to make up for it in fantasy.

The Eagles would love to have Sadiq, and fans should hope he drops in the draft so he can help their offense on the field and in fantasy.
