Philadelphia Eagles fans can rejoice for the return of future Hall of Fame right tackle Lane Johnson.
NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported that Johnson is back with the team and is expected to practice. Johnson has missed the past week due to an excused/non-injury designation.
Johnson had a great season last year until a foot injury cost him the final eight games. He finished with zero sacks allowed in 262 pass-blocking snaps for the Eagles in 2025.

It's great to have Johnson back, as he is such an important piece to this offense and offensive line. He's been highly regarded as one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL over the past decade.
Since he has been gone, rookie third-round pick Markel Bell has mostly been filling in at right tackle. There have been multiple reports that the offensive line has struggled to protect quarterback Jalen Hurts in the pocket throughout training camp.
Despite the struggles, it was a positive for Bell to be on the field with the starters since he is seen as the eventual successor to Johnson. Bell has shown promise, but still has a long way to go to be on the same level as Johnson.
Johnson's return should give the offense some stability to help them through the next few weeks. He has been the glue that has kept them together since joining the team over a decade ago.
During his NFL career dating back to 2013, as the Eagles' first-round pick, Johnson has been selected to six Pro Bowls, two first-team All-Pros, and three second-team All-Pro teams. He was selected to the first-team All-Pro team in the first round. He has started 168 games in his NFL career.

Hopefully this is the piece of news that will get the Eagles' offense back on the right track in training camp and help them perform well. The most important player on that side of the ball, besides Jalen Hurts, is back, and it has never felt better.
