It is four practices into Philadelphia Eagles training camp, and things are starting to take a turn for the better.
The Eagles' offense is starting to get into a rhythm, and the defense continues to dominate. That is leaving some of the position battles more up in the air because everyone is starting to contribute in the best way possible.
One of those position battles that seems confusing for the moment is at wide receiver. The top four spots are secure, but there might be a real question about whether the Eagles carry five or six receivers going into the 2026 season. It's becoming clear now that one of those spots will be secured by a player once thought of as more of a lock to not make it.
Eagles are seeing Elijah Moore earn every snap at training camp
It was a quiet first few days at training camp for Moore, who made some nice plays but was getting overshadowed by Darius Cooper. Johnny Wilson hasn't made too many highlight catches at receiver, but Moore was more on the fence after a few days.
That might not be the case anymore. SportsRadio 94 WIP Eagles reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks named Moore the Day 4 player of the day at practice after he made several great catches.
"Elijah Moore got a ton of 1st-team reps on Monday with Makai Lemon leaving practice early. For the most part Moore made the most of them.
Moore had two really nice catches over the middle, including one that was a 30-40ish yard TD down the middle of the field. His other catch came between the hash marks around 15-20 yards over the middle between multiple defenders.
The only downside to Moore’s day was what seemed to be a miscommunication between Hurts and Moore that resulted in an interception in 7v7s.
Moore entered camp fighting for a roster spot. On Monday he looked like a player the team should keep on their initial 53-man roster."
Over the years in the NFL, Moore has been a reliable WR3 for multiple NFL teams. He has posted four consecutive years with at least 446 receiving yards from 2021 through 2024.
The Eagles can use Moore in multiple ways on offense, beyond being a reliable slot receiver. He has reportedly already been used as a wide receiver reverse runner, which he has done on other teams in the past.
Cooper made his mark on the roster last year after his work on special teams and his breakout performance against the Cincinnati Bengals in preseason. Wilson would have made the roster in 2025 if not for an ACL injury in training camp.
That's why many thought Moore was going to have a tough time making the 53-man roster. His big plays in practice are now making it harder for head coach Nick Sirianni and offensive coordinator Sean Mannion to keep him on the sidelines.

The real question now is not whether Moore can make the roster. It's whether Cooper or Wilson can sneak in.
