Eagles head into camp with fewer answers and more questions than before

We need more answers, though.

The 2026 Philadelphia Eagles are going to be a team that fans have no idea how they are going to be, but are going to be entertaining to watch nonetheless.

This team is filled with new storylines entering the season, as they roll into the Sean Mannion era as offensive coordinator, looking to fix a unit that finished in the bottom 15 in total offense, passing, rushing, and scoring. Philly's defense at least has the foundation to be a top unit despite some questions about the safety positions.

It's a new year in Philly with all kinds of changes that hopefully will result in another Super Bowl title. Even with some optimism from the fan base, it's hard not to be concerned about the overwhelming number of questions about the team.

Eagles' training camp must be able to answer all these questions about 2026

Of course, the first and pretty much all of the questions about the Eagles surround the offense. Mannion has never called plays in his two-year coaching career and is now trying to bring in a whole new scheme for a team that has just focused on running the football. No one knows how Mannion is going to do, but it's a concern after the nightmares fans had to deal with regarding Brian Johnson and Kevin Patullo since 2023.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is surrounded by questions about whether he will be with the team in the future. Hurts was slammed by unnamed sources for being uncoachable and changing plays. Philly not giving him a contract extension and not publicly defending him this offseason has even upset the franchise quarterback behind the scenes.

Looking at head coach Nick Sirianni, his future isn't even certain despite winning 69.4% of his games and bringing the Lombardi Trophy home just two seasons ago. Many claim he does nothing and that general manager Howie Roseman deserves all the credit for the winning culture.

Going back to what was mentioned earlier about the safeties, Roseman let Reed Blankenship walk and appears to be looking to replace him with Marcus Epps. While Epps was good at replacing the injured Andrew Mukuba last year, the Eagles fan base is left wondering whether that's the right choice.

To top it off, going back to the offense, the wide receiver position is such a mystery with A.J. Brown traded away and gone. DeVonta Smith assumes the WR1 role, but who will step up as WR2? Will it be Dontayvion Wicks, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, or rookie Makai Lemon?

There are even more questions that weren't even brought up, like the offensive line, but the point has been made. Training camp must answer many questions for Eagles fans to have more certainty about the 2026 campaign.
