There are plenty of positions the Philadelphia Eagles need to address in the offseason, but the offensive line always seems to get the most attention from fans.

After the scare that Lane Johnson and Landon Dickerson gave with their almost retirements, the Eagles have been urged to go get their potential future replacements, but a new mock draft has another idea. The Athletic released their latest mock draft with their beat reporters and Eagles reporter Brooks Kubena, and Zach Berman went with Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq instead.

"This pick came down to value for the Eagles. The slick sleuths discovered behind the scenes that they’d have their choice between Sadiq or an unnamed offensive lineman. (There will be other mocks!) GM Howie Roseman stayed at 23 after working the phones and landed the best player at his position. The Eagles don’t have a primary tight end under contract for the 2026 season and arguably should have drafted one last year. Sadiq, at 6-3, 245, enhances the passing game as a potential mismatch and fits a new offense that is expected to feature the play-action game. The Eagles pick a tight end on Day 1 for the first time since drafting Keith Jackson at No. 13 in 1988. Jackson earned All-Pro honors in his first three seasons."

Eagles select TE instead of offensive line in mock draft

Philly had only Cameron Latu under contract at tight end, with Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, and Kylen Granson free agents. Goedert will be too expensive to bring back for the Eagles, and Calcaterra and Granson didn't do enough in 2025 to get the team excited about bringing them back.

Sadiq is a game-changer at tight end and is by far the most athletic tight end in the draft. He has a chance to be an absolute monster in the passing game and ensure the Eagles don't miss a beat in the passing game.

The concern here is that the offensive line suffered so many injuries last year, including Johnson, Dickerson, and Jurgens. Philly could really use the youth and depth to help the line get through what could be a very painful transition from Jeff Stoutland after 13 years as the offensive line coach.

Eagles fans wouldn't necessarily complain about Sadiq being selected in the first round, but the offensive line is more of a concern right now.
