The Philadelphia Eagles are getting rocking and rolling with OTAs over the next few weeks before they get a break for part of the summer.

This will be the first time that the Eagles will have the 2026 roster on the field together since the offseason began, with many familiar faces mixed in with new talent looking to help the franchise get back to the Super Bowl. Compared to other OTAs, this one carries more weight for the players and coaches after a disappointing 11-6 season in 2025, with people's jobs potentially on the line.

Even with the start of OTAs, there might be excitement, but there is a mystery that is hovering over it, and no, it's not about wide receiver A.J. Brown and his pending trade. It's another issue that general manager Howie Roseman has to get resolved.

One roster spot remains open for the Eagles that needs to be filled

During the offseason, NFL teams can have 90-player rosters that don't need to be trimmed down until the middle portion of training camp in August. The Eagles currently have 90 players, but rookie seventh-round pick Uar Bernard was placed on the international player exemption spot, meaning Philly can technically have 91 players on the roster.

Roseman can add one more player to the team. Whether he will do that now or wait until training camp is one question that needs to be answered.

There's always a chance that Roseman could be waiting to make a move until he has a resolution to the Brown situation. Once Brown is traded, then Roseman can work his magic to add to the roster before training camp starts.

Eagles fans shouldn't expect a splash move to fill that final roster spot, but something has to happen with it before the end of July, so it's something worth monitoring.
