Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been taking a beating this season from the media with all kinds of reports, but one survey might be able to silence the negativity.
A new story from The Athletic's Mike Silver shared that Eagles teammates were frustrated that the franchise's leadership, including owner Jeffrey Lurie, general manager Howie Roseman, and head coach Nick Sirianni, was worried about being critical of Hurts in public. This is just one of many reports throughout the season that shared Eagles players' frustration with the star quarterback.
The Athletic was back with a new survey that included 116 people who shared their thoughts on the sports leaders they most admired. Hurts found himself on the list at number 12.
"The quarterback of the defending Super Bowl champions, Hurts, is still not always considered one of the best at his position. However, after leading the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances, our voters recognized his stoic and steady leadership."
Jalen Hurts was in the top 15 of most admired leaders in sports
One thing people can say about Hurts is that he has a calm demeanor. Nothing ever seems to faze him in a game. That's what one of the surveyers Olivia Smoliga, an Olympic swimmer, said about the quarterback.
“He’s so calm, when someone could crash out at all the things that he’s experienced. He just shows how steady he is and centered in himself, and I really, truly admire that.”
Hurts has been a proven winner in his time in the NFL, winning nearly 70% of the regular season games he has played. He has also been to two Super Bowls, won one of them, and was named the game's MVP.
In both Super Bowls, the Eagles were held in check, and Hurts had to carry the team on his back to help them win the game. Hurts arguably played the best games of his career in those matchups as he has thrown for a combined 525 passing yards and three touchdown passes, adding another 142 rushing yards and four touchdowns in those games.

It's rare to see Hurts show emotion on the sidelines that would be seen as negative, and he is always uplifting his teammates. All these negative reports are odd to hear about a guy who has simply always done the right thing for his team.
