The 2025 season may not have been great for the Philadelphia Eagles, but cornerback Quinyon Mitchell was a star who was finally born.
Mitchell dominated through the NFL as one of the top shutdown corners in the league. His peers are starting to get notice of how good he has been as well. The latest top 100 ranking had Mitchell landing at 47, two spots higher than he was last year.
In 2025, Mitchell posted 45 tackles, 17 pass deflections, and one fumble recovery in 16 games. He also allowed a completion percentage of 44.3% and a passer rating of 64.3.

It's incredible to see how great he was as a rookie during the Eagles' Super Bowl run and how he moved up to being elite in 2025. His coverage skills actually got better and made quarterbacks' lives that much harder.
A common criticism of Mitchell is that he has yet to record an interception in the regular season. If everyone counted the postseason, he would have four in the last two years.
The problem is that Mitchell is just not getting enough targets to try to nab any interceptions. He was targeted an average of 5.5 times per game last year.
Mitchell has been partnered with Cooper DeJean in the secondary, as the two have become the best cornerback duo in the NFL. They both were All-Pro selections last season for the first time after being rookies in 2024.
The Eagles added another cornerback to the picture with Mitchell and DeJean: Riq Woolen. With Philly appearing to have a true CB2 with them, Mitchell might only get better from here and could have more chances to get interceptions.

Mitchell looks like one of the best players in the NFL, and the league better be ready to face off against him for a long time. That's because he doesn't appear to be going anywhere from Philly anytime soon.
