After an exciting first round with the selection of USC wide receiver Makai Lemon, the Philadelphia Eagles will be right back to work on Day 2 with more intrigue coming.

The Eagles still have some needs to fill in the next six rounds, with tight end, offensive tackle, safety, and edge rusher being the biggest on the list. Philly took care of their wide receiver position, but what will they do with the 54th overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft?

NBC Sports Philadelphia's Ryan Fowler has a name the Eagles fan base needs to focus on. It'll be one who can immediately come in and help out.

"Name to watch at 54 tonight if the Eagles stay put: Texas Tech EDGE Romello Height," Fowler said on his X post. "The team has remained high on him throughout the process (hosted for a 30) and holds an “early Day 2” grade on the First-Team All-Big 12 selection, per league source."

Eagles have their sights on Romello Height for Round 2

Height was a first-team All-Big 12 selection for the Red Raiders last year as he racked up 38 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one pass deflection. Pro Football Focus graded him out as the number one edge rusher in the nation with a 92.9, as he had 56 pressures (ranked seventh) and 39 hurries (ranked sixth).

While he's not a finished product, Height appears to do one thing really well: make the quarterback's like a living nightmare in the pocket. He's got great speed off the edge, and while he isn't the biggest edge rusher at 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, he can be a problem to block for offensive linemen, using his speed to his advantage.

The Eagles currently have Jalyx Hunt and Nolan Smith Jr. as starters, with Arnold Ebiketie and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka as reserves. Height would come in and be a rotational player at edge rusher, and would get as much playing time as Hunt and Smith.

If this is a Vic Fangio call for who he wants on his defense, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman better make sure to get his guy and bring in Height.
