He's not wrong.

There are a lot of eyes on the Philadelphia Eagles as they search for their new offensive coordinator.

The Eagles removed Kevin Patullo from the position after just one season. That one year, though, was tough, with the offense in the bottom 15 in all the major statistical categories, and even saw head coach Nick Sirianni having to step in and help by the end of the season.

Much of the conversation surrounding the offensive coordinator job search centers on the Eagles wanting to hire someone who will have full control of the unit without interference from Sirianni. While appearing on SportsRadio 94 WIP, Eagles beat reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks had some strong thoughts on the matter and gave Sirianni some advice.

"My initial thought was I guess in two fold. One in terms of what it means for the team, if it's true. I think it proabaly is, they are trying to bring in a Vic Fangio of the offense. Like somebody that is going to have to be able to do whatever he wants and I think to your second point there about Nick (Sirianni), my advice to Nick would be like throw your power around, right? Put your foot down on that. Your offense that everbody I know publicly likes to rep, your offense won this franchise a Super Bowl. The offense that everyone says is simplistic and isn't good enough and all those things has been one of the best offenses in the NFL since Nick took over. So, this idea that Nick Sirianni needs to be taken out of the offensive room, I think is frankly insulting to Nick Sirianni."

Should Nick Sirianni put his foot down to have his say on the offense?

Sirianni needs to be careful about picking his battles, as he sort of proved in 2025 that he has some flaws in how things were going. One, this is the second time that promoting from within resulted in one-and-done offensive coordinators. Two, the offense is starting to get stale and predictable, with multiple comments recently from others noting they knew what was coming, and even from 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who said he watched the 2023 film of the Eagles' offense to prep.

It's fair to say that Sirianni deserves a lot more credit than he gets, as way too many people say he doesn't do anything. That's simply not true, as he helped build a team that won just four games the season before, transitioned between franchise quarterbacks, and rebuilt part of the offense and defense while making them into Super Bowl champions.

There are times, though, that it has felt like the Eagles needed a reset of the offense because the creativity was simply gone. They have that chance now to bring in an outside voice to get this offense back to being electric, as it has been over the years.

Sirianni should be involved if he wants to be, but he has to be open to new ideas on offense that will bring some innovation to a unit that needs it.
