At the start of the too-quickly coming offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles have already made several signings to the team as they look to improve the roster for the 2026 season.

The Eagles have already been hard at work over the first two days, with multiple players signing future contracts. One notable player missing was the one Eagles fans were hoping would be resolved quickly.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made sure to get that done as he signed safety Andre' Sam to the reserve/futures deal with the team. Sam becomes the 12th player early in the offseason to sign a futures deal with the Eagles.

Andre' Sam will be back for the 2026 season for the Eagles

Sam is not exactly a big name, but he came up big late in the season after rookie safety Andrew Mukuba broke his ankle in the Week 12 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. While Sam only took three snaps on defense during the season, he played a bigger role on special teams with 26 snaps and was more of a depth piece in case anything happened with Marcus Epps, Reed Blankenship, or Sydney Brown.

In three regular season games, Sam made just one tackle in the 22-19 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. He was also on the active roster for the Eagles during their 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card game, but did not record a stat.

This will be the third season that Sam will be on the team after being an undrafted free agent out of McNeese State, Marshall, and LSU. Sam made one tackle in 2024 after playing in just one game with the Eagles.

The Eagles will bring a reliable piece to the special teams, as Sam will once again compete for a roster spot in 2026, hoping to make a greater impact.
