The Philadelphia Eagles' social media team is always cooking with great content, but what they did with the New England Patriots was just pure gold.
Of course, the big connection between the two was the recent trade, in which the Eagles sent wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Patriots in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick. So far, Brown seems to be enjoying himself with the Patriots, as he has changed his jersey number, which has caused quite a stir.
Brown is moving from his number 11 jersey, which he has been wearing his whole career, and is now wearing number 1, which caused the Patriots to post an image of Brown in his new jersey with the caption "The 1." Well, the Eagles social media team couldn't let that go as a few days later, they responded with a post that had a picture of quarterback Jalen Hurts with the caption also being "The 1."

Eagles' social media really shows who's the real number one
Brown can wear that number one with New England all he wants, but his former teammate Hurts wore it first. Hurts began his career with the number two in his rookie season, but after that, he changed to number one and has worn it ever since.
There's no secret that Brown and Hurts are no longer friends, despite both sides showing respect to each other. After two years of pent-up frustrations from Brown's side, the two broke apart, as well as Brown to request a trade from the Eagles.
This feels like the beginning of a rivalry that could develop between the Eagles and Patriots, as there is already some bad blood after the teams split the Super Bowl series 1-1. Adding the Brown and Hurts elements will only make this thing better.

August 19 cannot come any sooner, as the Patriots and Eagles hold their joint practice. It's going to be fascinating to see Hurts and Brown on the same field for the first time since the trade.
