Training camp just got underway for the Philadelphia Eagles, and they already made a tough decision with their roster.

For the first time since training camp started, a player has been cut from the team. The Eagles announced that defensive end Ta’Quon Graham was waived. Graham was excused from the Eagles' practice on Day 3.

He was with the Atlanta Falcons from 2021 through 2025 before joining the Eagles. Graham spent the last two months of the season on Philly's practice squad. He racked up 84 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in his NFL career.

Eagles make first roster move of training camp

It comes as no surprise that the team waived Graham, but it felt a bit too soon. There could be a reason the Eagles decided to move on.

During their third day of training camp, the Eagles had several players leave practice with multiple injuries. Edge rusher Keyshawn James-Newby, offensive guard Micah Morris, and offensive lineman Jaeden Roberts, all rookies, left practice early with injuries.

Moving on from Graham could give the Eagles the opening they need to start adding other players to the team. They will have to see how serious the injuries are, as James-Newby and Roberts were both carted off the field.

There are questions about whether this is a sign that another Graham is finally coming back to the team. Rumors have swirled about Brandon Graham playing the 2026 season with the Eagles, but he has not re-signed with the team yet. Roseman already told the media that conversations have been had, and Graham said earlier in the offseason that he wants to return.

With injuries on the offensive line, the Eagles might have to look at free agent options to bring in much-needed depth. Mekhi Becton has been a name that was thrown around throughout the offseason, but no news has come from it. That has been more about writers and reporters merely suggesting the move.

Training camp has been off to an interesting start for the Eagles, from the number of injuries to the defense playing well to the offense showing shaky signs. There are still about four weeks left until camp is over, so plenty can change during that span, and Eagles fans better be ready for anything.
