Training camp is going to be fascinating for Philadelphia Eagles fans to monitor with so many position battles going on and so many players trying to step up to the plate and make the roster.
The Eagles signed several players on one-year contracts as "prove-it" deals or just as depth players on the roster. A lot of them are going to find some kind of playing time, whether that is at their positions or on special teams.
One group Eagles fans are interested in watching is at wide receiver, with so many new faces to the group like Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, Dontayvion Wicks, and rookie Makai Lemon. Another newcomer might be on the bubble for making the Eagles' 53-man roster, but there are signs showing that he's got a real shot to make the team.
Elijah Moore is making it tough on the Eagles to consider cutting him in training camp
Expectations were high for Moore when he was a second-round pick of the New York Jets back in 2021, and while he's had some nice moments, he never really broke out. His best statistical season was either his rookie year with 538 yards and a career-high five touchdowns or 2023 with the Cleveland Browns, when he went for a career-high 640 yards and two touchdowns.
Moore has bounced around between four teams before landing on the Eagles this season, including the Jets, Browns, Buffalo Bills, and Denver Broncos. He has caught 209 passes for 2,274 yards and nine touchdowns, adding 95 rushing yards and two more scores in 70 games.
Before last season, Moore never had a season under 446 yards, proving that he can play at the NFL level. He might not be a top-two receiver, but as a WR3, he seemed to be a perfect fit for it.
With the Eagles, though, he's going to have to play a much different role than what he is used to. DeVonta Smith, Lemon, Brown, and Wicks are the top four receivers, leaving Moore to battle with Johnny Wilson and Darius Cooper for the final spot or two at the position. This could lead to Moore needing to become good at special teams.
Moore is also showing that even though people think he is on the bubble, he might be more secure with his roster spot. He is building good chemistry with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, working out with him on the field several times throughout the offseason. Moore was just seen in a clip working on grip strength of the football with Cooper DeJean and Saquon Barkley.

The next month will be interesting to watch, but Moore is already showing he fits in with the team and is putting in the work. Losing that kind of player is a risk for Philly if they let him go.
