The final 53-man roster for the Philadelphia Eagles officially marks the beginning of the 2026 season for the team.
The roster had a few twists and turns that surprised Eagles fans, but most of the solid players from training camp made the cut. This group looks poised for a strong campaign.

Quarterbacks (4)
Rostered:Â Jalen Hurts, Andy Dalton, Tanner McKee, Cole Payton
Practice Squad: None
Hurts and Payton were the easy choices for who would make the roster, but McKee and Dalton were the biggest mysteries. They still are, since no one knows who will be the backup and is still wondering how all four made the team without Dalton or McKee being cut or traded. At least the Eagles know that Hurts is the man in 2026 again.
Running Backs (3)
Rostered: Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley
Practice Squad: Carson Steele, Dameon Pierce, Jaydon Blue
The three running backs who made it were not a surprise at all, with Shipley the only one really battling for his job. It's great to have Steele and Pierce back on the practice squad after strong preseasons. Blue is an intriguing back with a lot of speed, but has some maturity questions surrounding him.
Wide Receivers (6)
Rostered: DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon, Dontayvion Wicks, Darius Cooper, Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore
Practice Squad: Britain Covey & Danny Gray
Moore was the only real question mark going into the roster cutdown: would he make the team? Now the new question is who will get playing time between Cooper, Brown, and Moore in 2026. It'll be interesting to see whether Lemon becomes the WR2 on the team this season or if Wicks lives up to the training camp hype and takes that position for the time being.
Tight Ends (4)
Rostered: Dallas Goedert, Johnny Mundt, Eli Stowers, E.J. Jenkins
Practice Squad: None
Jenkins stunned every Eagles fan as the fourth tight end, so that was no doubt the biggest surprise on the 53-man roster. It's a clear sign, though, that Stowers won't have much of a role on this offense, with Jenkins most likely being TE3 until the team is confident Stowers can step up. Goedert and Mundt should be the top two on the depth chart, with Goedert getting all the passes and Mundt handling the blocking.
Offensive Line (10)
Rostered: Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, Lane Johnson, Fred Johnson, Markel Bell, Micah Morris, Drew Kendall, Willie Lampkin
Practice Squad: Kiran Amegadjie, Jake Majors, John Ojukwu
Kendall and Lampkin were the biggest surprises on the roster, both in how well they played and in their progress from last year to 2026. Bell and Morris looked great in the preseason, as they look like they could be on this roster for a long time. The intriguing addition is Amegadjie, who was competing for the starting left tackle spot with the Chicago Bears and is now a great depth piece for the Eagles on the practice squad.
Defensive Tackles (5)
Rostered: Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Byron Young, Ty Robinson
Practice Squad: Uar Bernard & Gabe Hall
Robinson took a massive step forward in his development this year after recording three sacks in three preseason games. It was great to see Bernard get back on the team again after general manager Howie Roseman took a risk on losing him by waiving him, but now he gets time to develop behind the best defensive tackle room in the NFL.
Edge Rushers (5)
Rostered: Jonathan Greenard, Jalyx Hunt, Nolan Smith Jr., A.J. Epenesa, Arnold Ebiketie
Practice Squad: Keyshawn James-Newby, Mason Reiger, Joshua Weru
The Eagles went veterans on the active roster, with all five expected to make the team. Weru is a welcome sight to return and develop after having one sack in the preseason, and James-Newby missed time in training camp, so now he'll use the 2026 season to build. Reiger is a new practice squad player who adds depth to the room.
Inside Linebackers (4)
Rostered: Zack Baun, Jihaad Campbell, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Smael Mondon Jr.
Practice Squad: Chance Campbell
Carrying just four linebackers on the roster is a massive risk, but all of them are worthy of a roster spot. Trotter should get significantly more playing time on defense this year with Mondon taking over Trotter's spot on special teams. Chance Campbell really should be on the active roster, so don't expect him to be on the practice squad all season.
Cornerbacks (6)
Rostered: Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Riq Woolen, Jonathan Jones, Kelee Ringo, Mac McWilliams
Practice Squad: Robert Longerbeam
Ringo and McWilliams are the biggest problems for this unit, and Jones is a question mark himself after missing most of camp with an injury. The top three, though, could be the best cornerback trio in the NFL. Longerbeam might be a guy to watch out for to sneak onto the 53-man roster at some point this year or in 2027.
Safeties (3)
Rostered: Andrew Mukuba, Marcus Epps, Michael Carter II
Practice Squad: Cole Wisniewski & Maximus Pulley
These three rostered players were expected to make the team. The question is who is going to start between Epps and Carter, but it feels like the signs are pointing towards Epps getting the nod. Wisniewski was hurt for most of training camp, so he might be a year away from making this team.
Special Teams (3)
Rostered: Jake Elliott (K), Braden Mann (P), Rocco Underwood (LS)
Practice Squad: None

Everything seems to be right with the special teams, as this was the expected group. Elliott might need monitoring early in the year to see how he rebounds from back-to-back bad seasons, but he looked good in training camp and the preseason.
