Bold prediction: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts will win the MVP trophy.

After coming oh so close to winning the MVP trophy last season, no one should be shocked if Jalen Hurts takes the next step and is named Most Valuable Player this time around. No one should see that as being far-fetched. Sure, words and nuance matter. Quarterbacks often win the MVP award, but that does not always make them the best player in the NFL. Jalen Hurts has the ability to be both.

Aaron Donald was the game's top player for multiple years but never won an MVP award. Jalen Hurts will earn one of the league's highest honors and be regarded as the league's best player once the 2023 season wraps. You can take that to the bank.

Hurts' decision-making last season was the main reason the offense was unstoppable. He specialized in forcing the defense to be wrong in whatever method they utilized in an attempt to disrupt the offense. As his understanding of his offense grows alongside his comprehension of what defenses are doing, he will make the leap necessary to surpass Patrick Mahomes as the best player in the NFL.

Mahomes may make flashier passes but this is the Kobe Bryant vs. Tim Duncan conversation. Jalen Hurts is Tim Duncan with his calm and poised demeanor. He will do all the little things to make sure his team wins and that consistency is what will elevate his status in the league. Book it.
