Who will be the starting running back?

The Eagles need to figure out what they're going to do at the running back position for next season, as D'Andre Swift, Boston Scott and Rashaad Penny are all headed for free agency.

The Eagles should absolutely try to keep Swift, as he was very solid during his first season in Philly. In 16 games (15 starts), Swift rushed for 1,049 yards and scored five touchdowns, He also caught 39 passes for 214 yards and reached the end zone once as a receiver.

That type of production is worth hanging on to. Plus, Swift could potentially be a bit cheaper than some of the other big names running backs who will be available on the market. If Swift ultimately does sign elsewhere though, there will still be several other attractive options for Philadelphia to consider.

The Eagles were recently linked to longtime New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who is also headed for free agency. But, Barkley will likely be looking for a hefty deal, and traditionally the Eagles don't like to overspend at the running back spot, so a union between the two seems unlikely.

If not Barkley, it will be someone else, and figuring out exactly who that is will be a priority for the Eagles over the offseason.
