3 Reasons for the Eagles to acquire Shaquille Leonard, three more to ignore him

We're almost certain the Eagles won't be acquiring Shaquille Leonard but feel led to discuss the pros and cons anyway.

Honestly, we can argue for and against an Eagles acquisition of the recently released Shaquille Leonard.

Okay, we know what you're thinking. Stop us if we're on the right track. You're sick of seeing dots connecting every disgruntled or released player to the Philadelphia Eagles. You're wondering if this is that type of story. Okay... Yes... This is exactly that type of story. Still, it's one we feel required to tell even if we're almost certain that much of what we say might lead to nothing.

Smoke hasn't always led us to fire in these scenarios. They're just fun to talk about, maybe because we play Fantasy football. Maybe it's because we love Ultimate Team mode on EA's Madden NFL 24 game. Either way, regardless of where you stand in all of this, Shaquille Leonard's release hits differently (as the kids say).

Leonard was drafted 36th overall during Round 2 of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was the defensive rookie of the year in his first season. He has three Pro Bowls and three First-team All-Pro nods to show for all of his hard work, but he is also without a home.

He was waived by the Colts on November 21st, so yes, we're asking if Philly should make the call.
